I found a ‘Treasure Chest’! What do I do?

Share your X-citement! You can either post an image of your find on the TTCP Facebook Page or send it to ‘TTCP@thetreasurechestproject.com’ and we will share it for you! If you don’t have a photo, just share your story! You can also share on the MW Forum in the TTCP Section!

We would love to hear where you found your Treasure Chest and how finding the Treasure uplifted your day!

After enjoying your find, you can decide to Pass the X-citement by hiding a Treasure Chest for someone else to find, or you can simply continue enjoying it!

How do I become a X-Club Member?

You Hide a Treasure for someone else to find!

There are Copper, Silver, and Gold levels of X-Club Members. Copper Level Members have hidden 5 or less Treasures. Silver Level Members have hidden 6-19 Treasures. Gold Level Members have hidden 20 or more Treasures for others to find! It takes time, but strive to be a Gold Level X-Club Member!

How do I hide a Treasure for The Treasure Chest Project™?

Follow these 4 easy steps on how to hide a Treasure Chest for The Treasure Chest Project™:

First add the treasure of your choice inside your Treasure Chest. You can purchase Treasure Chests on Amazon, in your local stores, or create one of your own. (See other examples)
Inside the Treasure Chest you should also include TheTreasureChestProject™ contact information for the finder to let the community know they found it. (YOU CAN PRINT TTCP CONTACT NOTES FOR INSIDE YOUR TREASURE CHESTS HERE)
Now you are ready to hide your Treasure Chest in any discreet and appropriate location for someone else to find it! X-Citing!
After you hide your Treasure Chest, take a photo and share! Send to TTCP@thetreasurechestproject, post on TTCP’s FACEBOOK GROUP PAGE, or share on the MW Forum in the TTCP Section!

What do I put in my Treasure Chest for someone to find?

The options are endless! A Treasure can be as simple as an uplifting quote or a ‘Lucky Penny’. No matter how big or small, they are all awesome to find….AND HIDE! (see some examples in the Gallery)

Where do I hide a Treasure Chest for The Treasure Chest Project™?

Again, the options are endless! Any discreet and appropriate location for someone else to find your Treasure is awesome!

Each month TTCP will feature one of the most creative locations a TTCP Treasure Chest has been hidden. Join the TTCP Facebook Group for updates on some of the places TTCP Treasure Chests are being hidden.

What Inspired The Treasure Chest Project™?

The Treasure Chest Project™ was inspired and grew from MW’s Treasure Tokens. Many people, along with myself (Jenny Kile, owner of MysteriousWritings.com (a leading website on treasures)), were hiding the MW Treasure Tokens (small discs which encouraged the Quest) at various locations, in Geocaches, or placing them in treasure chests with extra items for others to randomly find.

They would send images to MW of places they hid the tokens and the ‘treasures’ they were hiding with them. This inspired the project- or at least inspired the creation of this website.

The Treasure Chest Project™ actually created itself!

It was noticed generous people were sharing images of some awesome ‘Treasure Chests’ they were hiding! This encouraged others to do the same. It was a wonderful way to uplift someone’s day! For both the hider and the finder!

The Treasure Chest Project™ was happening, and so MW decided to create this website for the sharing of these adventures and to continue to encourage others to spread this X-citement!

How much X-citment and smiles can we give away? That is the Question of The Treasure Chest Project™!
